Accounts

The Rebar Hub Accounts screen provides the interface for interacting with users in Rebar.

At a minimum, there are two users in the Rebar Hub. The admin (you) and Rebar System account. The Rebar System account cannot be modified or deleted. It exists for administrative auditing reasons. When certain actions are performed by the Rebar Hub without administrator actions, the Rebar System account is tagged as the actor.

Rebar Hub users can be created in a few major means:

  1. With PKI/PIV credentials
  2. With a username / password combination in Active Directory
  3. With a username / password combination

Each of these types of accounts are created in different ways, which will be discussed below.

Listing

The Account Management screen will present you with a listing of accounts in the Rebar Hub.

The App Listing screen provides three main functions

  • Listing of accounts in the Rebar Hub
  • Account metadata
  • Navigation to view / manage account

Go To Account

To facilitate quickly finding accounts, the Rebar Hub Account Management screen provides a Jump to Account text box and button.

Simply enter an account email here, tap Jump to Account and you will be taken to the users account (if it is found).

Rebar System Account

The Rebar System account cannot be modified or deleted. It exists for administrative auditing reasons. When certain actions are performed by the Rebar Hub without administrator actions, the Rebar System account is tagged as the actor.

Account Types

Rebar Hub users can be created in a few major means:

  1. With PKI/PIV credentials
  2. With a username / password combination in Active Directory
  3. With a username / password combination

PKI Created Accounts

The Rebar Hub can have accounts created that are backed by PKI/PIV. These credentials can be derived credentials on the device or a hardware token like the Yubico 5C/5Ci keys. These accounts are authorized through the PKI Management settings.

Username / Password with Active Directory

When Active Directory is configured, users can authenticate with their active directory credentials against the authorized Active Directory providers.

Username / Password

When accounts are White Listed, they can be managed and configured with username and passwords that are created when the user creates their account.

Account Roles

There are three main roles within the Rebar Hub

  1. App Users - use the mobile apps themselves
  2. Super Administrators - can configure and administrate the Rebar Hub
  3. Administrators - can administer the Rebar Hub

Modify Account

To modify an account, select an account from Account Management - from there you will be taken to the Modify Account screen. This screen will display all the metadata for a user.

This screen will allow the updating of account metadata, email, locking, unlocking, deleting, making an account an administrator, and other various actions for accounts.

Admins do not have access to the Configure functions that the Super administrator has.

To make a user account an Admin, tap the Make Admin button. This will prompt to make the account an administrator.

If the user should be made an administrator, confirm.

If the user already is an Admin, tap the Remove as Admin button. This will prompt to remove the account as an administrator.

Make Super User

Super Administrators have all the same access rights as Admins, but additionally can Configure the Rebar Hub.

To make a user account an Super Admin, tap the Make Super Admin button. This will prompt to make the account an Super Admin.

If the user should be made a Super Admin, confirm.

If the user already is an Super Admin, tap the Remove as Super Admin button. This will prompt to remove the account as a Super Admin.
